Torbreck:
I’m broadly with you on all of that. First game, no pre season friendlies and a lot of new combinations always adds a bit of fog, especially if it’s wet or scrappy. For me though it’s less about the scoreline (although I like to think we’ll flog ’em) and more about what we look like and please no injuries. If we’re well organised, compete hard, defend properly and play with intent I’ll be happy. And please no stupid penalties or unforced errors like we’ve seen too often in previous seasons. The quality is there and you’d back it to show over 80 minutes. Crowd rumours are encouraging too. First game at Plough Lane with a decent gate, some edge and a bit of belief goes a long way. As for the shirt, I couldn’t care less if it’s plain, pink or borrowed from Sports Direct. Win ugly, build momentum and let the rugby do the talking.
Slight aside, but it’s no wonder it’s gone almost silent here lately. The forum is borderline impossible to use now. Slow, clunky and the cookie police popping up every 30 seconds like a badly timed video ref. Hard to post when you’re fighting the interface. It's taken 7:42m to open the forum, log in, click on this thread and that's before posting. Useless. Error 500 kept coming up at every stage too.
I feel your pain Torbreck, much the same experience for me.
