What those stats tell is that to have had to make 44 tackles a game, we're spending too much time defending, and not enough with the ball. The 37 errors and 38 penalties mean we're coughing possession up cheaply. More time defending means more tackles made, which means we'll be fatigued faster than the opposition, and hence the landslide scores.
It's only to be expected really at this stage, and will improve. The encouraging thing is that in making all those tackles, it shows the effort is being put in.
Both Warrington (+3) and Leeds (+12) have actually made more errors than Salford, It's the missed tackles, lack of forward momentum and guile with the ball that is hindering us.
