| Quote SaintsFan="SaintsFan"I was very proud of England for 60 minutes when they matched them toe to toe. For the last 20 minutes, though, I was very embarrassed by England because they capitulated. They decided not to bother defending anymore but instead opted for the easy course of letting their backline run riot. I hope the boys are proud of that because I wasn't. I'd frozen by butt off for over three hours and cheered my head off each time they scored, looked close to scoring (a number of times) and defended well. At least they could have lost with dignity.'"
Totally agree. The record books will show the score alone and not how close the game was in reality. That last 20 minutes was extremely disappointing. I had driven up from the Midlands (not the ends of the earth, I know) via several diversions thanks to an M1 closure for the most of the day. I don't think the crowd helped in that last 20. The ground was half empty by full time! Some may say cause, some may say effect, but some of the people sat around me arrived 10 minutes into the game and left 15 minutes before the end. And they weren't Wiganners ! What kind of message does that send to the players? The Kiwis can stage a comeback, so why couldn't we ?
In some respects our players seemed a little naive. I guess that comes with the relative inexperience some have at international level. Having said that, I was proud of their energy and passion compared to the "old school". Until the last 20 that is..........
I haven't seen the game again yet, so I'll reserve judgement on some of the "decisions" until then.

| Quote 10940="10940"I have become bored this last couple of weeks reading the poms glorification of 'THAT' Burgess try,it was just about the ONLYgood move England produced all match, then he stuffed himself up by trying to dummy another try not long afterwards, surely to God he didn't expect AUSTRALIA to fall for it twice?? so if he had used his brain??????? you could have been 12-0 up,so it just shows,he still has an awful lot to learn, which he should do in the NFL during his prime years,...it's a pity Trevor Foster isn't still around at Odsal Stadium to show him how a second row forward SHOULD PLAY RUGBY.'"
We’re not debating a try that should have been, we are talking about your stupid, can’t-accept-anyone-from-England-is-any-good comments.
10940 says: “He’s a carthorse”
Petero Civoniceva says: "What a weapon, he's unbelievable, I think he's going to take the NRL by storm "
Nathan Hindmarsh says: "He's got a bit of skill and a bit of footwork and he's got good toe”
So who should I believe? A troll who has yet to post one anti-biased, intelligent comment or two of the best rugby players in the world who have actually played against him? I think I’ll take the latter.

I understand as much about rugby League as anyone does, and I maintain at the moment Burgess is being over-rated,I have seen,(over the years) many potentional players that didn't turn out as good as they were expected to,..you see in England you have great problems with personel in nearly all your sports, one good performance and you lot start screaming"best since sliced bread, twelve months later on the scrap heap..(Panesar)for instance, Morgan is the next.
The trouble with you mate is,if people dont agree with you they must be a troll,..GET A LIFE.

Err... Australia RU weren't superior to Scotland last week were they!
Anyway you ought to be good at sports as you have nothing else to do over there but practice. For us sport is something we do in our leisure time, while for you it is a religion and doesn't involve using your brains much. We invented most of the international sports. The best you lot came up with is a cross between a couple of sports we invented. Sorry I forgot you invented sledging didn't you.'" '"
Go back to school child.
I've learned that artificial intelligence is no match for natural stupidity.

You obviously don't understand what a simple equation this is.....I'm not saying Burgess is the best player in the world, I'm not saying he didn't mess up a potential second try. What I am saying is that calling him a CARTHORSE is wrong....nothing else.....a belief that is backed up by two of your international players. Does someone with "skill and a bit of footwork and good toe" sound like attributes that a carthorse would have?
Having looked at some of your posts on here it is clear that you do not know as much as anyone on Rugby League, I've yet to see anything that isn't aimed at agitating the English on here, which is what you seem to spend all your time doing.....therefore maybe you should get a life and try considering making one, decent, rugby-league based comment rather than a hundred stupid The-English-are-rubbish-at-everything ones.
