I played with and against Jordan when he was coming through at Skolars. He’s a big strong lad with a quality work ethic, both in training and in games, and he’ll be very coachable. He’s a sound, quiet person who will keep standards high. He’s definitely not a backrower these days, he’s a prop. If I was being harsh I’d say that his ceiling isn’t that high, but he definitely won’t let us down when called on.
Next year we have McMeeken, Caleb, Fa’atili, Rodwell, Storton, Lolesio, Lingard and High in the middle. We’ve seen this year you can quickly lose 4 of them to injury. No complaints from me for getting another solid player in to bulk up the squad.
As for salary cap, I can’t imagine he’ll be taking up much space. Less than the first six players I mentioned above I reckon. He’ll be just about full-time with Fev and Broncos before that. And 28 isn’t that old for a prop.
Isn't that the Aussie Union Fly Half? Did you mean Jazz Tevaga. Obviously, with 2026 being our 2nd year in SL, we'll have to watch our Salary Cap as players will want improved deals and things like that. You have to sort of back the likes of Millsy and getting this right, but it's just that he's gonna be replacing Atoni, or an option for that position, and as we've seen this year, he could end up playing half the dseason if we have the same injury issues. From what I've seen of him, if we're planning on making our way up that table, there would be a bit of a drop off between the top 4 Props and him, and that's something that's got us through this year when guys have been out. But hey, what do I know, and it's just my opinion. Hopefully, he's someone who can surprise us in this environment. Tray Lolesio we have signed him you may have missed it the other week he is a middle How daft do I feel, completely forgot we signed him tbh. I put it down to him not having a cool name like Jazz or Smoothy. It sort of puts a different slant on this signing, then. Agree with Butcher, if the Aussies we've brought in settle and play the RL we know they can, and the team continues to improve, those close losses should hopefully turn into wins and nail us at the top 6 with room to spare.

I've never seen the lad play but people with far far greater knowledge than me (Mills, Powell, Shenton, Kirmond etc) will have and I'm happy to rely on that knowledge. They haven't let us down.
From reading bits from the odd person who has, I get the impression he's a Keegan Hirst type of signing. By that I mean, a bit late to the party age wise, but a big lad who'll do the hard yards and his tackling. Solid if not spectacular,( James Stosic anyone?) but coming into an environment that will get the best out of him.
I think it was Jack Gibson who said "you have to have people who can carry the piano as well as those who can play it."
Thought it was Eric Morecambe tbh, but I'm willing to be corrected..... Eric Morecambe's response to Andrew Previn was "I'm playing all the right notes, but not necessarily in the right order." Yep, of course. I'll set 'em mate, you knock 'em down.... ......Unlike Fil who has no idea how to deliver a punchline.....

As a Fev fan, Keegan Hirst isn't a good comparison, Hirst was big, bulky and slow, whereas Williams is tall, not especially bulky but quite fast for a middle (he's scored a couple of tries from around 40m out for Fev this year). Probably someone like Jack Ormondroyd is a better comparison. Williams isn't a wrecking ball but he's a useful player, I'd say he's of comparable ability to Matthieu Cozza who seems to have done ok for you and I doubt Williams will have been expensive.
