There is a massive step up from u19s to A Team and another step up to Superleague standard. Unfortunately, the younger players have not had the ability to learn their trade at A Team level and are being asked to jump straight up to Superleague. Most good juniors dont make the adjustment and end up playing at Championship level. From what I have seen of both players, Croft is ahead of Greensmith in development but both players lack in pace, footwork, finesse and intelligence of good Superleague centres. That may come, but I dont see it at the moment. So whilst they have the capability to 'stand in' in terms of need, they are not obvious replacements for what we have got, and may end up being good Championship centres, unless they can dramatically progress.
