Quote Ruddy Duck="Ruddy Duck"What world are you in if you believe that Rugby Union is getting more money from Sky and more attention from the National Media because of the lack of effort by the RFL administration.
Rugby Union gets more money from Sky and national media attention because it is a nationwide game which has gone even stronger since 1996, while Rugby League is only played mainly in the North of England with the odd clubs situated elsewhere and in the South of France. You can have the best administration in the world at Red Hall, but things will never alter where Sky and media attention is concerned.
As for kids attending rugby summer camps or playing for one of the number of local amateur rugby league clubs, there are just as many, if not more now playing football for teams not only in Wigan, but also Bolton, Chorley, Skelmersdale etc.
It's you and one or two others who need to take the blinkers off if you cannot see how Rugby League has declined in the entertainment quality and in star players since the days of Central Park and the mid nighties when Union went professional and which has come on in leaps and bounds from the days of kick and clap with a great deal of improvement being due to the coaching by former League players like Edwards, Farrell, Ford, Lydon etc. (All of whom having played for Wigan, chose not to put anything back into league on retiring from playing, but went for the 30 pieces of silver in Union).
As the song goes, things ain't what they
Who mentioned rugby union, not me. You mentioned football you seem to be trying to expand your argument to suit. Have you any idea how many amateur rugby league clubs there are in this country, to say its just a northern game is nonsense albeit not professionally.
