I was just about to post this also, I cant see it being true, however I dont know when the deadline for newly signed players to play is. Didn't Hull play Thackray when he signed back there from us the same week in the CC?

yes-and we got a fine only for it,but then the rfl put new sanctions in place if it ever happened again.no comment from leeds apparantly!! |

Considering there were 3 other clubs that played players signed the same week as Smith I very much doubt it will be true.
Just Hutchie looking to reel in some idiots.
And to think hull fans on hearing McShane was signing last week, were calling for him to be straight into the team, and that it would be fine.  |

B4:8 In respect of any Club, only players on the Register of that club at the close of RFL
business on the Monday immediately prior to the Third Round of the Cup shall be eligible
to play in any Cup Tie in the Third, Fourth or Fifth Round of the Cup in that Season. Only
Players on the Register of that Club at the close of RFL business on the Monday
immediately prior to the Quarter Finals of the Cup shall be eligible to play in any Quarter
Final, Semi Final or Final Tie. A player who plays for one Member Club in the Cup
cannot, in that same Season, play for another Club in the Cup
